Tim Caiger, Vice president of CRE and procurement, EMEA - Oracle Corporation

After studying building construction and architecture at Southbank University Tim worked for architects in the UK prior to spending five years in Canada working for the developer Campeu Corporation.

On his return, Tim spent eight years with Barclays Property Holding Company and from there moved to Hewlett Packard before joining Digital Corporation, covering a wide international property portfolio.

Tim started working for Oracle in 1988 when the company had approximately 600 employees in Europe. Since then the number has grown and Oracle now employs15,000 people, a growth which is reflected in the current property portfolio.

The vice president of real estate, facilities and purchasing for the Oracle Corporation, Tim is looking after 280,000 sq m (3m sq ft) in 34 countries across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Major achievements have included the Oracle owned campuses at Thames Valley Park and Blythe Valley Park where Oracle acted as developer.

A WORD OF ADVICE:

Facilities management is only successful if it is aligned with the commercial need of the business and adds value at every level.

A LITTLE KNOWN FACT:

Tim loves practical jokes and flying kites.
