
David is Managing Director of BAM FM Ltd (formerly HBG [Facilities Management Limited) and is responsible for the development and delivery of the company’s facilities management business. He graduated as a Quantity Surveyor from Robert Gordon’s Institute of Technology in 1984 and became a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1987. As Associate Director of Turner & Townsend, David played a key role in the procurement of a number of significant PPP projects in the education and waste management sectors. David’s experience specifically covered the development of service level agreements, performance measurement processes, rationalisation of maintenance and support service regimes and benchmarking of FM operations in pursuit of best practice solutions. Previously as Northern Regional Manager for FM consultancy CBX Limited, David managed a portfolio of property throughout the UK and undertook a number of significant FM consultancy projects. These ranged from the procurement and implementation of integrated FM delivery solutions to risk management and contingency planning for Y2K impact. While at CBX, David also developed an FM capability for a major service provider in Europe. Appointed Managing Director of BAM FM in 2001, David is responsible for all aspects of BAM’s facilities management business in the UK and, in particular, the delivery of the ongoing operation of the company’s PFI projects. David combines comprehensive experience within the FM arena and strategic insight into client requirements with a process-driven approach to ensure that projects are delivered in direct response to clients’ long-term requirements, on time and within predetermined affordability parameters.

David plays the drums in a rock band and has appeared on Radio One and numerous commercial radio stations; when he was a student his band supported Nazareth when they were touring in 1984.
